VICTIMS NO LONGER WEEKEND RECOVERY WORSKHOP, NORWAY

Welcome to The fifth Scandinavian weekend workshop for male survivors, to be held in

Norway, Friday April 24th, 6 pm, to Sunday April 26th, 2 pm.

This residential recovery workshop facilitated by Mike Lew is for male survivors of sexual abuse. The sessions offer a recovery experience in a safe and powerful environment for shared healing and address the specific needs of male survivors. The 'Victims No Longer workshop' will focus on the reality of recovery, and offers the opportunity for expressing feelings in a supportive and non-abusive environment, discussing how childhood abuse affects adult life, sharing personal histories, talking about trust, intimacy, sexuality, and relationships, exploring and developing strategies for survival and healing.

Venue/accommodation: Thorbjørnrud conference hotel, about a 1 1/2 hours drive from

Oslo, is beautifully located on a lake, and well known for its great food (website in

Norwegian only: thorbjornrudhotell.no). There are buss connections from Oslo city centre and from Oslo Gardermoen airport.

Languages used will be English and Norwegian/Swedish/Danish. All information is given in English. You choose which language you want to use, and the group will be small enough to provide translation whenever necessary.

This weekend is for men actively engaged in their recovery work and is not a substitute for therapy. All participants need to be in contact with a centre or a therapist, who can provide follow-up as needed.

There is no registration fee, room and board are free. Participants cover their own transportation only. The number of participants is limited, so it is wise to sign up well in

advance and no later than April 7th.

The workshop is organised by SSMM (Centre for sexually abused men) and ADAM (Church

Resource Centre against violence and sexual abuse). For further information & enquiries please email: Lennart Persson adam@kirkeligressurssenter.no or Endre Førland
